Jimmy Clyne Promotions Ltd is a company based in Braintree in Essex and was formed in 2007 to bring the best in boxing talent to Essex, and give the people of the area the chance to meet legends of the boxing ring.

Company founder and director Jimmy Clyne explains:

"There is now about 130,000 people in Braintree I'm reliably informed, so it is a very big town, normally these events are only held in big cities, but I want to put Braintree on the boxing map of Great Britain.

I myself have been going to boxing shows and events over the past 8 years and harvesting the contacts to be able to present these events, and believe me they are sensational!

As some of you know I have a very good relationship with one of the exponents and main (British Boxing Board of Control) promoters of these events, Mr Wally Dixon from Manchester who has provided me with valuable assistance and tickets to some of the biggest fights in the last 5 years, which I have already passed on to the people of Braintree. Notably the last 10 or so Ricky Hatton fights.

He has brought over from the USA some of the most memorable boxers of the last century, namely Mike Tyson, Ray Leonard, Roberto Duran, Tommy Hearns, George Chavallo and Larry Holmes to name but a few. I will endeavour to keep a working relationship with him, hence be able to bring a host of boxing superstars here to the sunny climes of Essex.

So my short term aim with this is to bring here to Braintree some of the most exciting boxing talent past & present, with a long term goal of getting an affiliated boxing club here and help some local boys develop their skills and hopefully become legends of the future."
